This Privacy Policy applies to homeowners, installers, contractors, distributors, utility or program participants, website visitors, business contacts, job applicants, and other individuals who interact with Stepwise.

When you create an account, register a Stepwise Tap device, use our webapp, or participate in a Stepwise program, we may collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, zip code, company name, account credentials, and other information associated with your account.
Homeowner and Customer Information. We may collect homeowner or customer contact information, including name, email address, phone number, zip code, project details, and information related to the requested installation, support issue, or program participation. Precise home address may be collected when you choose to provide it, when it is needed to fulfill a purchase or service request, or when it is necessary for installation, support, delivery, utility program participation, or similar purposes.
Installer and Contractor Information. If you are an installer, contractor, distributor, or trade partner, we may collect your name, contact information, company information, role, service territory, license or certification information where provided, order history, training participation, support requests, and information you submit through our website or commissioning workflows.
Installation and Commissioning Information. When a Stepwise Tap is installed, registered, or commissioned, we may collect information about the home, electrical system, connected appliance, installer, and installation. This may include service size, panel or breaker information, appliance type, appliance make/model, charger or equipment information, device serial number, installation photos, commissioning checklist responses, utility territory, program eligibility information, and related notes submitted by the homeowner, installer, or Stepwise team.
Purchases and Orders. If you purchase products or services from us, we and our service providers may collect information related to your order, billing, shipping, payment, fulfillment, returns, and customer support. Payments and store transactions may be processed through third-party services such as Shopify or other payment processors. We do not directly store full payment card information, but we may receive related transaction details such as billing information, shipping information, payment status, and order confirmation information.

Installers, Contractors, and Distributors. Installers or trade partners may provide us with homeowner contact information, customer contact information, installation information, device serial numbers, photos, commissioning information, service details, or support information.

If you choose to participate in a utility, incentive, rebate, pilot, grid services, managed charging, demand response, or similar program, and you provide consent for data sharing, we may receive information from utilities, program administrators, implementers, energy service companies, or other program partners. This may include enrollment status, eligibility information, utility territory, program requirements, or data necessary to provide or verify the requested program.
Technology and Integration Partners. We may receive information from third-party services, connected equipment providers, EV charging platforms, appliance platforms, software integrations, or other technologies that you or your installer connect to the Services.

During troubleshooting or support calls, we may share relevant device, installation, or support information with the applicable installer, homeowner, customer, or contractor to help diagnose or resolve the issue.
C. Utilities, Program Administrators, and Energy Partners
We share personal information or device-related information with utilities, program administrators, implementers, energy service companies, evaluators, or other program partners only with your consent, where you choose to participate in a program that requires such sharing, or where otherwise permitted or required by law.

If you or your installer connect Stepwise with third-party equipment, platforms, software, or integrations, we may share information as needed to enable the requested integration, functionality, monitoring, control, or support.
