The Stepwise Story

Stepwise was founded in 2023 with a simple goal: make home electrification easier and more affordable.

We started with one of the biggest barriers homeowners face when adding EV chargers, heat pumps, hot tubs, and other electric appliances: the assumption that they need a costly panel upgrade. Our flagship product, Stepwise Tap, launched in 2024 to help homes safely add more electric loads using the panel they already have.

Today, Stepwise Electric is expanding across the U.S., partnering with electricians, utilities, and industry leaders to make energy management simpler, more transparent, and more accessible. By combining smart load management with real home energy data, we help homeowners electrify today while preparing homes to support a cleaner, more flexible grid tomorrow.
